Facilities/Services Policies Research Subject Guides

The Library and its facilities are open Monday to Saturday whenever a member of the library staff is present.

Here you can sit comfortably with a magazine, watch a DVD, browse the collection, study, sketch, do research, use a computer to work on an assignment or check your emails, in addition to borrowing material.

During class time the library space, on either the ground or mezzanine floor, may be used for group work by arrangement with the Librarian.

Library Stock:

There is a wide range of resources available to support the schools of learning at Lifeway College. Library staff will be glad to assist with helping you locate the information you require.

The physical collection includes over 7,000 books, a range of periodicals (journals and magazines), DVDs and CD-ROMs. Additional electronic resources can be accessed through the library catalogue, and we link to various electronic databases.

The library also makes available a selection of equipment, eg cameras and players, for on-campus use.

The library catalogue is searchable online through the web OPAC. Students and staff may login to check what they have out on loan and when it is due back, as well as reserve material.

See Borrowing policy for more information on borrowing material.

It is expected that Academic Staff and Students of the campuses at LIFE North and LIFE Central will become members of the Auckland Libraries network The local branch for LIFE North is the Mahurangi East Public Library, which is a short distance from the College. See this street map for its location. Membership is free and provides online access to the wealth of resources in the Digital Library research collection, as well as the ability to request material from the 55 libraries in the region.

Library Computers:

There is a suite of computers available for Students' use on the mezzanine floor of the Library, during Library opening hours.

Priority of use is given to Students with assignments due or studying for examinations.

All technical problems should be immediately reported to the library staff member on duty. Students should remember to logout at the end of their session and return any library resources to the ground floor in order to avoid inconveniencing others.

Students may choose to bring their own laptop and plug into one of the spare network connections.

The Lifeway College Internet acceptable use policy and any other relevant regulations set out in the Student handbook apply when using these computers.

Print Shop

Full colour photocopying, scanning, printing, and faxing facilities are available on the mezzanine floor. Pre-pay cards are available from the College Administration Office during normal business hours.
